SPIRE OHIO High School Preview Meet
January 31, 2026
This competition is hosted by SPIRE Institute & Academy, and will be held in Geneva, OH, USA on Saturday January 31, 2026.
If any club member would like to participate in this event please submit your MEET PARTICIPATION REQUEST (MPR) by Sunday January 25, 2026 at 11:00 pm.
TRANSPORTATION:
The bus trip to Geneva, OH will leave from ROB FORD STADIUM (formerly Centennial Park Stadium) in Etobicoke on Friday January 30, 2026 at approximately 4:00 pm (time to be finalized), and return to the same location late Saturday January 31, 2026. Given that cars cannot be left at the stadium, please plan on either, a drop off or carpooling. The trip to Geneva, OH is approximately a 4 hour direct drive, and upon arrival at the hotel Athletes, Parents, and Club Personnel will go for dinner.
A week or so in advance of departure Club Management will email final instructions regarding the trip to Parents of registered Athletes. Athletes, and any Parent accompanying them on the trip, must have a valid passport with an expiry date of at least 6-months after the expected return date to Canada.
COST / ATHLETE MPR’s / PARENT TRIP REQUESTS:
The COST is $100.00 per Athlete, which will cover the bus and hotel. Parents are welcome on the trip at an ADDITIONAL CHARGE of $100.00 with family rooms available as needed, however bus & hotel space is limited. The Club will accept ATHLETE MPR’s on a first come first serve bases, but must be received no later than Sunday January 25, 2026, 11:00 pm. Parents interested in accompanying their son or daughter on this trip to the SPIRE Scholastic Showcase High School Meet must email their PARENT TRIP REQUEST to Club Management via info@yrrc.ca by the MPR Deadline of Sunday January 25th, 2026, 11:00 pm.
PAYMENT:
If paying by e-transfer please send payment to payment@yrrc.ca in advance of the Friday January 31, 2025 bus departure date. Also, enter the name(s) of the Athlete/Parent along with “SPIRE Meet” in the “Optional Message” field when completing your e-Transfer. This will ensure that your payment is correctly paired up with the correct ATHLETE MPR (and if applicable, PARENT TRIP REQUEST).
Alternatively, fees can be paid by cheque payable to “York Region Runners Club“, and provided to Club Management when boarding the bus traveling to Geneva, OH, USA on the afternoon of Friday January 30, 2026. Please enter the name(s) of the Athlete/Parent along with “SPIRE Meet” in the “Memo” field when completing your cheque. This will ensure that your payment is correctly paired up with the correct ATHLETE MPR (and if applicable, PARENT TRIP REQUEST).
