COACH’s PROFILE

Fred Robbins, HEAD COACH & CLUB DIRECTOR

Fred started his coaching career in his last year of high school at King City Secondary School. His track experience started with his days at King City, where he graduated in 1975 as athlete of the year.

Fred leads the 3,000 meter race competing for Seneca College at Maple Leaf Gardens - the hardwood track was only 140 meters long.

He then moved on and successfully competed at the College level for Seneca College. Now as a Masters Athlete he continues to train and compete, with his favorite event being the mile.

He is currently a certified Level 3 Middle Distance Coach, and a Level 2 Sprints and Hurdles Coach. Fred is committed to enhancing his knowledge about Running and Track & Field, as well as teaching techniques, nutrition, and injury prevention & rehabilitation by attend conferences and through industry literature.

Fred has received many recognitions including those from the York Region Board of Education for his many volunteer hours, as well as taking many athletes from the Stouffville and surrounding Districts to OFSAA for cross country and individual track events.

Fred uses his knowledge and expertise of the sport to officiate at many York Region track meets. Additionally many young athletes are referred to him by people in the sport who know of his skills & motivational techniques, for private coaching services when one-on-one personal attention is needed.
